I was born in the Netherlands and started riding at age 10 at a local riding school in Lelystad, the Netherlands. From age 15 I was riding and training horses for several people. I worked at Anky van Grunsven's stable and trained with her. By mostly working on the basics of dressage with her, he learned the most important thing in dressage: consistency. Regardless of what system or trainer: consistency is the key to success.

In 2008 I moved to the United States where he worked for three years as Head Trainer and Manager of a 20 horse private barn based in Rhinebeck, NY and Wellington, Florida. I trained and showed horses, and instructed and coached his clients, from the young horse classes, up to Grand Prix level.

During this time in the USA I trained with Robert Dover, Per Sandgaard, Pether Markne and Rien van der Schaft. From 2013-2014 he trained with UK national team rider Dan Watson in England. I came back to the US in 2014 to manage Washington Equestrian Center.
