Monterrey La Silla is a 16.3 hand gelding who is very elastic, athletic, sweet tempered and shows very promising scope in the Free Jumping Chute. He is just starting under saddle and is jumping small courses.  He has done a 10 day Join-Up Program at Flag Is Up Farms with Monty Roberts as a two year old and is now in full training under saddle at Dark Horse Farms in Somis, CA. He is registered with Studbook La Silla in Monterrey, Mexico.

Monterrey La Silla is by the Olympic Jumping Stallion Risueño La Silla who jumped in the Games in 1996 in the Final Round for the Mexican Team with Jaime Guerra. He was an Argentine Thoroughbred who passed his incredible scope and heart onto his offspring.

Petit Bijou, Monterrey’s dam, is a Hanoverian Mare who has produced several foals (7) by different stallions, all of whom show a lot of talent and scope. Her Dam-Sire, Argentan, son of the foundation sire Absatz, is found in the pedigree of many top level International show jumpers. He produced 18 approved Hanoverian stallions and his most famous son was Argentinus. Petit Bijou has had a successful jumping career in the 1.40-1.45m amateur divisions with rider Rick Oas. All of her foals display good balance, conformation, scope and character.
