We are thrilled to announce that Olivia Brown and Cash are the winners of our ProEquest Jump of the Week contest! This horse and rider combination won by a whopping 25%! Olivia and Cash are a part of Harley Brown Equestrian that resides in Portola Valley, CA.We are always interested in learning more about our ProEquest members so we asked Olivia to share Cash’s story with us. Not only was she nice enough to share some insight into their relationship, she also sent us some more fabulous pictures to admire!

How old is Cash?

Cash is 8 years-old.

How long has Cash been at Harley Brown Equestrian?

He is a second generation home bred! Harley and I bred his mother, who was by a stallion named Blue Diamond that Harley bought as a 4 year-old and trained and rode all the way through to World Cup Grand Prixs! We then bred his mother to Cassini 2 and so Cash was born! He was raised and broken in by Harley's dad. We brought him over to the US from Australia as a 3.5 year-old. Harley has been competing him until recently; I just started showing him over the summer.

What type of horse he?

Cash has very interesting jumping blood-lines. He is by a Holsteiner named Cassini 2. His mother Diamond Dancer is by Blue Diamond (an Irish Sport Horse from the King of Diamonds line) and his Dam's Sire is an Australian Thoroughbred closely related to Anne Kursinksi's amazing Eros. He is bred to jump!

What is your favorite thing about him?

What I like best about Cash is the amazing feeling he gives you when he jumps. He comes off the ground with such explosion it is an incredible feeling! He has always been a talented jumper, as a young horse he would jump out of his paddock and then would jump back in, just for fun...and he never once touched the fence!

How would you define his personality?

Cash is a very quirky horse. He is difficult to ride. I have trouble cantering him in the warm-up ring, as he becomes very horse shy and will randomly spin and try to buck me off (he bucked me off 5 times in one week when he was 4). He also gets very wound up during his warm-up and I can only jump about 8 warm-up jumps. On the ground he is very sweet, like a big puppy dog. At the show he sleeps a lot and he loves it when I sit in the stall with him or when I sit on him and scratch his mane.

Once again, we would like to congratulate Olivia and thank you to everyone who voted!
