Petschenig Showjumpers is now offering premier training services in Pilot Point, Texas.

The Petschenigs, Peter, and Nathalie, have recently relocated to Texas from California, where they had a loyal clientele.   As a testament to their program, several of their clients have stayed with them, commuting to Texas in order to continue with their training.  

Nathalie Petschenig explains, “Our mission is to help our clients reach their cherished goals.

I think what makes us unique is that we make a personalized plan for each client.   We cater to the individual so that we can work closely to produce results.” The Petschenigs are sought for their expertise in hunters, jumpers, and equitation.  Nathalie works with riders of all ages and all levels, from short stirrups to Grand Prix. She says, “I have a passion for teaching; it’s been so rewarding to help kids and adults improve and find success at the top levels.”

“We love it here in Texas,” says Nathalie, “because we are able to create the ideal training atmosphere.  In California, we were in a shared facility, whereas here we have a spacious ranch, and we live on the property.   We are committed to giving our clients one-on-one attention, and this setting supports that. It’s great for the horses too.  They stay sound and are really happy because they get personalized care and turnout in safe, quality pastures.”

The Petschenigs take pride in developing young horses for the future, while also campaigning with clients and horses at the top levels.   They usually have 5-10 horses for sale, including prospects, seasoned campaigners and imports. They travel to shows, including regular trips to Florida.

Nathalie Petschenig is a born horsewoman, having begun riding at age three under the guidance of her grandfather, USEF Hall-of-Famer Morton Smith.   Her career includes countless wins, with national titles from intercollegiate competitions, to west coast medals finals, to Grand Prix show jumping.  As a trainer and coach, she has helped students advance through the levels to compete successfully at Maclay Regionals, CPHA, PCHA, and West Coast finals, plus Jumper Championships and Hunter Derbies.

Peter Petschenig learned to ride in the Netherlands, and has made a lifetime career of campaigning show jumpers at the top levels in Europe and the U.S.   As a sponsored rider, he has won countless Grand Prix and earned top finishes in World Cup competitions.

The Petschenigs 17-month-old son Owen is already an equestrian.   One of their clients bought a miniature horse, and whenever Owen is able to get a pony ride, he expresses his delight with giggles and laughter.
