Snowbird

Snowbird is an impressive 2016 filly by Clearway out of a Caretello B x Acord II mare.  The Bird is chesnut with no white, has beautifully correct conformation, and has an unbeliveably wonderful personality.  She was named a Foal of Distinction and Premium Foal by the German Oldenberg Verband inspectiors in July and will be weaned in October.  Bird is offered for $17,500 with no board or routine expenses due until she has been weaned.  Very reasonable on farm boarding packages available for buyer.  

Clearway- The 18 year old grey had placed, among others, in the Neumünster and Braunschweig Grand Prixs under Lars Bak Andersen and is a half brother to the licensed stallions Conway I and II by Caretino and to Arturo by Athlet Z. His half sisters Chika‘s Way and Carassina by Concerto II are highly successful international show jumpers. Clearway was considered one of the most noble sons of Capitol I and embarked on his stallion career in 2001. The licensed stallion Clariomo, highly successful under Janne Friederike Meyer in the international youngster tour, is from his first foal crop.
Cayado and Corpino are two other Holsteiner licensed Clearway sons. More than 800 Clearway foals – 430 colts and 463 fillies, to be exact – have been registered. Four of his daughters have been awarded state premium status, three Verband premium and 61 district premium status. Clearway foals are particularly remarkable for their powerful movement, which is reflected in his foal evaluation breeding value at 123 index points.

Safira successfully jumped in the 7 yr old classes in Germany before being imported to California where she was a competitive 1.45m horse, as well as being a very good equitation horse and winning championships in the Junior Hunters. Safira always jumps in impeccable style, shows great scope, and has a lovely temperment.

Safira’s sire, Caretello B, has proven himself both in sport and in breeding. He is described as an “impressive stallion with immense jumping power, a top producer and glowing winner, successful in the sport and of enormous importance as a producer.” He showed successfully at an international level, was named ‘Stallion of the Year’ in 2004, has sired 8 approved sons to date, and is one of the most sought-after stallions in South Germany. The sire of Caretello B, Caretino, is one of the most successful stallions of the Holstein breed. After a very prolific career as a sport horse Caretino has to date sired more than 20 approved sons and many valuable mares. Caretello’s dam, Victoria 5, out of Calypso IV, has made a name for herself as a sport horse of international acclaim.

Safira’s damsire, Acord I, the first of the 3 famous approved stallion brothers by Ahorn Z, jumped internationally for the Netherlands before being exported to the USA. Ridden by California Grand Prix rider, Hap Hansen, Acord I was the top horse in the West Coast World Cup League in 1993/94 and qualified for the World Cup Finals in Sweden. Ahorn Z was a large-framed bay stallion with good presence and topline, a beautiful face, a good mover and a great jumper through a tight front end. He became an international jumping legend with the Dutch team, competing in many World Cups and Grand Prix.
