Celogio
SOLD... please see others I have available
Celogio (known in the barn as "Hans") is a sweet personable guy looking for his next partner! Hans was imported 2 years ago for a young rider in my program to compete in all three rings. He has done just that and taken her from the 2' hunters all the way to the 3' hunters/eq and .95m jumper classes successfully!
Hans is a nice kick-a-long ride and one of the most comfortable horses I have ridden. If asked to be he can be nicely forward for the jumper ring and enjoys a challenge. He always picks a safe and smart distance at every fence (even if the rider doesn't) and always lands his leads. He has a good stride and has competed through the 3'3 hunters with scope to spare. Did I mention he just floats across the jumps...so comfortable!
Hans is easy to handle in the barn and on the ground. He is great for the farrier and the vet and simple to load, clip, etc. He has no vices, maintenance requirements or special care or feed needs. He goes in plain front shoes and is barefoot behind currently.
Hans does require prep for the hunter and equitation classes. He can be spooky. He is not a stopper at all, matter of fact he will jump fire if asked. But, he does have some anxiety in the hunter/eq arena and will act worried in certain arenas. He will try and find things to spook at or buldge away from the rail. He is never this way in jumper classes, but I guess he gets show nerves in the hunter/eq classes sometimes. He is never dirty or unrideable. But, he does require a rider that can instill confidence in him, and a hack in the morning and/or pro rides on the first few days of the show is a good plan. Certain venues he is a champ and acts like an old pro, other venues he is a bit on the anxious side in the ring.
He is not spooky at home and is on a program of 3-4 rides a week 1 of which is a pro ride.
Hans would thrive in any ring and would also make an awesome dressage horse since he has all the flatwork!
