Gordy is a beautiful dark bay gelding with four white socks. He has a wonderful disposition and is sound, experienced, uncomplicated, and forgiving.
He has extensive show experience in both the hunter and equitation rings. He has won a Fox Farms Derby at Rancho Murieta and has placed numerous times in the top four at derbies at Woodside and Murieta. He helped his amateur owner qualify for many equitation finals in 2015, including CPHA Foundation, PCHA 35 and over, Foxfield, NorCal 3’, and Horse and Hound.
In 2015 Gordy was NorCal year-end Reserve Champion in the AA Hunters and was NorCal year-end Champion in the Adult Equitation.
While enjoying wonderful success in the show ring, Gordy has been very well managed to ensure that he has maintained his soundness and enjoyment of the job. He is sound and requires limited maintenance. The current owner has veterinary history for the last eight years.
Gordy would be perfect for a child or adult rider. He will happily pack a beginner rider and teach them how to jump from cross rails up through 2'6-3'. He has a lovely trot which is easy to sit for the equitation and fancy enough to place in the hack. He is easy to work with on the ground.
A safe, solid partner, Gordy is ready to help his next rider learn the ropes and enjoy success in the show ring.
He is a barn favorite wherever he goes!
