Top Gear
Top Gear is an exceptional 2013 division large pony. He is always at the top of the hack, has a big step, and always jumps a 10. Top Gear has been brought along slowly locally and rated, is brave to the jumps, and has both solid lead changes. He is highly educated on the flat and is handy over fences, with many top ribbons in equitation and pony derbies. Top Gear is by the Welsh sire Blue Fox and has a beautiful expression and mannerly disposition. He is a quality pony ready to take his next rider to the top.
Rocket’s sire, Blue Fox, is by Blue Rain, who was the USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sire from 2004-2013 and is the sire of numerous pony hunter champions. Rocket’s dam, Sara Smile was sired by Trillion who harkens back to Ladykiller, a U.K. bred thoroughbred who was imported to Germany, and became one of the most successful sires in Holstein and German breeding in the modern era and is considered a crown jewel in modern Holstein breeding. Sara’s dam’s breeding goes back to Raise a Native, grandsire of Affirmed, the 11th Triple Crown winner.
Top Gear qualified for Pony Finals 2023 in both the Large Green and Regular Pony; was Grand Champion Pony Hunter at the historic Warrenton Pony Show in 2023; and took his rider to winning the 2023 Virginia Horse Show Association Pony Equitation and Equitation on the Flat, in addition to numerous other tricolors along the way.
